Here at Make A Memory Events, we take your right to privacy very seriously. Please be assured that we take our utmost care with your data.

Also, please be aware that we will only contact you with regards to an enquiry or booking that you have made. We do not send out newsletters as we hate spam as much as you do. We don’t sell your information to third parties either – we like to treat people and their information as we would like others to treat ours.

What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

Order Fulfilment

To fulfill your order, you must provide us with certain information such as your name, email address, phone number and the event details for the service you’re ordering.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We use contact forms to enable you to contact us to enquire about availability and to make bookings for our services. Please make sure you are using the HTTPS version of our website – you should get a padlock in your browser address bar – to ensure your message is encrypted.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

We also use Google Analytics to review website use and improve your experience as a user. As such, Google Analytics sets first party cookies. We generally keep your data for a minimum of 6 years.

Transfer of Personal Information Outside the EU

We may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, we may transfer your personal information to a jurisdictions with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If we are deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, we rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.

  •  Change, restrict, delete. You may also have the rights to change, restrict our use of, or delete your personal information. Except in exceptional circumstances (like we are required to store data for legal reasons), we will generally delete your personal information upon request.

You can object to (i) our processing of some of your information based on our legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from us after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, we will delete your personal information unless we have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is required for legal reasons.
